For more than a quarter century, the folks at Esther's Pool have kept Austin rolling with laughter. Part magic show, part vaudeville review, part satire tour-de-force, Esther's Follies takes no prisoners, offering biting, hilarious satire on all the news makers and events fit to parody.

In Washington, Barak Obama mixes it up with the Tea Party and Congress in "Baraky Horror Picture Show!"
All that and more to give you and yours a break from the stress of the holidays with a good laugh! Ho-Ho-Ho Hope you can come to Esther's Follies for the Holiday Show!

SHERWOOD FOREST FAIRE, The Year is 1189. Richard the Lionhearted has taken the Throne of England.
Time: 10:00am - dusk, Tickets: $15.00 / $8.50 Kids 6-12
Sherwood Forest Faire is nestled in the Lost Pines section of Texas, 35 miles east of Austin on US Hwy 290. The grounds are 105 acres of gently sloping terrain from front to back currently consisting of 25 acres expandable to 48 acres for the actual fairegrounds and the rest for parking and camping.
The Year is 1189. Richard the Lionhearted has taken the Throne of England from his father, Henry II (Plantagenet). England is all abuzz with Richard's commitment to the Holy Crusades. Many of the second sons of nobility have gathered at Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem, a pub at the foot of Nottingham Castle, before setting off to march against the infidels in the Holy Lands.
With Richard's attention elsewhere, the rule of law in Nottingham shire has fallen into the hands of the Sheriff of Nottingham. He is disliked by many, especially the merchants and peasants' from whom he extracts more and more taxes for his own gains, in the guise of supporting the war efforts.
The son of a lesser noble from southern Yorkshire, Robin of Loxley, has gained a reputation for fighting the injustices of local earls and barons, as well as the Crown. He is now a wanted man with a price on his head. He has made his home within Sherwood Forest, and a band of men and women have joined his renegade troupe. They have been given the title, Robin Hood and His Merry Men, for the seemingly joyful and laughable escapades at spoiling the evil intentions of the Sheriff.
He and his Merry Men are nothing less than folk heroes and have been known to steal from the rich to give to the poor.
This is the season of the annual festival. Winter is waning. Spring is breaking through the cold. Trees are leafing. And the people have come to these grounds to bring in a new year

MAIN STREET BETHLEHEM with live nativity Time: 6:00pm - 9:00pm. Admission: $ Donation $
This Christmas, visit Bethlehem . . . in Burnet Texas . . . as the ancient city of Christ's birth comes alive again.
Feel the anticipation of Joseph and Mary approaching the gates, urgency quickening their steps.
Pick your way through transients, peddlers, the crippled, and aged in the town's fringe. Experience the presence of animals as they affect all aspects of life in that time . . camels, donkeys, sheep, goats, chickens, and doves.
Explore the narrow streets to faint strains of ancient music and savor the smells of fresh goat butter, campfires, and hot bread. Then immerse yourself in the din of the marketplace; the revelers in the tavern, shouted insults to and from the Roman oppressors, merchants, craftspeople, taxpayers, and beggars all seeking money, or position, or revenge.
Search for the inn, only to find it full (as others did long ago). Then follow the trail to the cave where a road-weary couple has moved in with the animals, their place in God's plan and secular history to be made secure on this night. For the child in their arms was the incarnation of God Himself, come to the world that all who would place their faith in Him might enjoy eternal fellowship in His presence..

December 6th - 15th, 2013, Friday - Sunday ONLY
MAIN STREET BETHLEHEM with live nativity Time: 6:00pm - 9:00pm.
